Width: 1350cm Height: 675cm Seats: 8 - 10 Timber The Devon 2800 Oval Table is made of Kwila Timber which is found across southern Asia and the Pacific. Because of its stability and resistance to decay and insect attack, it is commonly used for wharf construction, house piling, decking and of course, quality outdoor furniture. Devon was the first manufacturer to recognise Kwila's potential for garden furniture and over 30 years later, it is now the favoured timber for the "down under" markets of Australia and New Zealand. Unlike teak, Kwila has a rich golden brown hue with many varied grain patterns. The timber colour may vary from "blonde" to "brunette", but as each table is hand made, planks are selected so the varying colours compliment each other. Construction All the permanent joints are morticed and tenoned, then glued with a specially formulated epoxy resin which is designed to flex with the timber movement. The table sub frames are designed to 'twist' on uneven surfaces, such as stone patios, to eliminate table rock. The value of the table does not just rest with the table top. What goes on under the table is equally important. That's because, the furniture is likely to be dragged around the patio from time-to-time and the leg system must be capable of taking the stresses that this movement places on the joints. .jpg)
