The timber used in the Devon Barnes Chair is
Kwila which is found across southern Asia and
the Pacific. Because of its stability and resistance to decay and insect
attack, it is commonly used for wharf construction, house pilings, decking and
of course quality outdoor furniture.
Fabric
Covers
All chair upholstery is made from fabric
which is 100% acrylic fibre. The fabric is air permeable, rot-proof and colour
fast.
Devon furniture has been using 100% acrylic fabric for over 30 years and
although it is slightly more expensive, there is no future in putting inferior
cloth on a quality frame.
Covers have been known to last upwards of
15 years outside but on average you could expect 5 to seven years before
recovering is recommended. All upholstered chair covers feature a polyester
fibre filling with a high density polyethylene base which allows for easy
drainage and with little or no moisture retention. Our unique cover attachment
system features “hook and loop” straps which allow for easy installation,
tightening as required, or replacement should you wish to change your colour
scheme in the future.
