The new Open Country Community Stadium (Te Whare Hui Ora) is a built-for-purpose community facility, designed to bring people together through sport, events and shared experiences.
In te reo Māori, Te Whare Hui Ora speaks to wellbeing strengthened through gathering and connection — a fitting narrative for a space built to support the Matamata community now and into the future.
Van Dyks Flooring Xtra Commercial was engaged by Foster Construction to supply and install flooring and wet-area finishes across key zones of the building. The product selections were chosen for durability, safety and ease of maintenance in a high-use public facility.
The wider project vision has always been about a practical, fit-for-purpose indoor hub — including a two-court gymnasium and supporting spaces such as reception/admin, bathrooms, changing rooms, storage and service areas.
